Hamas warns Israeli authorities against persisting in violating holy shrines

Hamas warned the Israeli occupation authority of persisting in colluding with and protecting the Jewish settlers’ attacks on holy Islamic and Christian shrines.

The movement was commenting in a statement on Tuesday on an attempt by Jewish settlers to break into Nabi Yunis mosque in Halhul, north of Al-Khalil, at the pretext of offering Talmudic rituals.

“We condemn such repeated violations and hail our people in Al-Khalil for heroically resisting and preventing the latest attempt (in Nabi Yunis)”, Hamas said.

The movement urged the Palestinians to maintain their cohesion and to continue defending holy shrines with all means possible.

Hamas asked the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to urgently and effectively act to support the Palestinian people’s steadfastness and resistance of Israeli attacks and violations.
