The International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO)of Muslim World League, have drilled 5,745 shallow and artesian wells, during the last years, in 37 countries in Asia and Africa to the benefit of around 2.061.491 people.
The IIRO water and sanitation projects include digging wells of potable water, building water supply systems, converting drought-stricken areas to green spaces , in over 25 countries to enable them producing their basic needs of food.
The secretary general of the IIRO, Dr.Adnan Basha said that those wells have contributed in converting barren lands to agricultural lands that produced many various harvests and provided quantities of potable and clean water to hundred thousands of people who used to drink polluted water that caused many dangerous diseases.
