Awareness worksop about the dangers of drugs in Tulkarem

The Friends of life Anti-Drug Society,has carried out yesterday an awareness workshop for the prevention and combating of drugs , in cooperation with the Association of Committees for Social Action (ACSA) , at its headquarters in Tulkarem.

The workshop was attended by the director of (ACSA) Mr. Shareef Sharour, the social specialist Nasreen Qauzah, and the psychologist Bassima Bustami from Friends of Life, as well as a large number of university students.

Mr.Sharour welcomed the attendees and expressed appreciation to the awareness and cultural role of the society pointing out to the readiness of the society to cooperate with the institutions of civil society to combat the spread of the drug phenomenon in Palestinian society.

The social worker Nasser Fahmawi gave presentation about the Friends of Life society and its efforts in combating drugs ,while explaining their negative impact on the youth, the family, and the society in different life aspects.

The workshop was concluded with a number of recommendations, most important was the necessity of continued cooperation between the two societies to conduct similar activities, while it called for mobilizing all efforts of civil society institutions to combat this dangerous and fatal phenomenon.

The deputy director of (ACSA), and a lecturer at Al-Najah University Maher Abu Zant said that this workshop comes within the framework of partnership strategy with the civil society institution and the campaign of awareness that was launched by the society in the northern parts of the West Bank.

This campaign was organized and financed in cooperation with the French Consulate in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and this campaign to raise the awareness of people about the dangers of drugs shall be implemented through 200 workshops in different parts of the West Bank.
